In 2019 I left the Lower Mainland and settled in the Green Lake area with my wife, Nichelle. Very quickly I found there was a need in this area for general help with household electronics. It’s often too expensive or too time consuming to take a device into a service centre for what might be a fairly simple fix.
Growing up, I was always the “go-to” person when it came to fixing any technical problem that came up, and it has carried throughout my life (and careers). This has included installing and setting up home entertainment systems, fixing practically any problem that comes up with home (and work) computers, troubleshooting software/app issues and configuring internet/wireless systems.
It is funny where life takes you through moves and careers.
My background is originally in genetics and microbiology (BSc. from UBC, 2006), but after briefly working in a lab I found myself living overseas. I worked at the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, Ireland followed by a stint in Edinburgh, Scotland before returning to Vancouver at the end of 2008. With my experience in brewing and lab work, I started working in quality control for a number of BC wineries and breweries. It was a fantastic experience, but after 2 years I was given the opportunity to strike out on my own and I jumped at the chance. I took over Urban Vintner Wine Making in North Delta – one of the first “U-Brew” operations in the province (started in 1985). Over the next 9 years I was able to grow the business and expand product offerings to suit the needs of the long-time customers, before passing it off to new ownership in 2019.
In September 2021 I expanded service area after acquiring High-Tech Computers in 100 Mile from long-time resident and entrepreneur, Al Gage. I am happy to continue the work that Al has done over the years and serve the commercial and residential tech needs of the area.
